Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has been shortlisted for the Premier League Player of the Month award for August after a blistering start to the 2025/26 campaign with AFC Bournemouth.

The Black Stars forward has been pivotal for the Cherries, scoring two goals and providing one assist in just three appearances.

Semenyo announced himself in style with a brace against Liverpool at Anfield, despite Bournemouth falling to a 4-2 defeat, before assisting in his side’s narrow win over Wolves on Matchday Two.

His standout performances have earned him a place on the eight-man shortlist for the prestigious award, where he faces tough competition from:

  • Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

  • Hugo Ekitike and Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool)

  • Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace)

  • Joao Pedro (Chelsea)

  • Jack Grealish (Everton)

  • Ricardo Calafiori (Arsenal)

The 24-year-old is currently in camp with the Black Stars ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali. Ghana face Chad on Thursday, September 4, at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno, before returning to Accra to host Mali on September 8.
