Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Nana Oduro Sarfo, has refuted claims that members of the Black Stars Management Committee receive winning bonuses.

His response follows comments by the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, who on Tuesday, September 2, disclosed that winning bonuses for the Management Committee had been scrapped as part of cost-cutting measures in the budget for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.

Speaking to Oyerepa FM, Oduro Sarfo insisted the Minister’s claims were inaccurate.

“The Management Committee members have never been paid winning bonuses,” he stated.

“The only thing they ever receive are per diems, so I really don’t understand why anyone would suddenly want to create a phantom issue about bonuses for Management Committee members.”

The Black Stars are in N’Djamena to face Chad on Thursday, September 4, before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8, in Matchdays 7 and 8 of the qualifiers.
