As Ghana gears up for its general election on December 7, key members of the Black Stars have joined the call for a peaceful and unified voting process.
The election will determine the nation’s next President and parliamentary representatives, and the players are emphasizing the need for calm and respect during this critical time.
Stand-in captain Mohammed Kudus, alongside Gideon Mensah, Razak Simpson, Isaac Afful, and Kingsley Schindler, delivered heartfelt messages encouraging citizens to prioritize peace over conflict.
“I’m here to urge for a peaceful election,” Kudus said. “We are all one in the country before and after elections. I wish you all well and have peaceful elections.”
Gideon Mensah echoed this sentiment, highlighting the democratic significance of the election.
“The election presents the citizens the opportunity to shape the country as they want it. I urge everybody to exercise patience and peace, value each and everyone’s opinion, and let’s keep going.”
The Black Stars, currently focused on their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, will return to action in March 2025.
However, their messages of peace transcend the football field, serving as a unifying appeal to Ghanaians during the election period.
Their calls underscore the importance of collaboration and respect in safeguarding Ghana’s democratic progress.
