Italian Serie A side Bologna have turned to the Ghana Premier League for fresh talent, completing the signing of teenage midfielder Kwesi Sorotu Badori from Berekum Chelsea.
The highly rated youngster has joined the club on a youth-team deal that runs until the end of the 2025/26 season, with Bologna retaining an option to make the move permanent.
Badori’s switch marks another example of European clubs closely monitoring Ghana’s domestic league, long regarded as a breeding ground for technically gifted and disciplined players.
The midfielder, who has impressed with his energy and composure at Berekum Chelsea, is expected to begin his journey in Bologna’s youth ranks as the club assesses his development and adaptation to Italian football.
For Bologna, the move fits into a growing strategy of investing in young African prospects with the potential to progress into the senior team. For Badori, it represents a significant step in his career, offering exposure to elite training environments and the chance to test himself in one of Europe’s top leagues.
While the immediate focus will be on his adjustment to life in Italy, the deal has been welcomed back home as another sign of the Ghana Premier League’s ability to produce talent capable of attracting attention on the global stage.
