Following the declaration of the newly created Bono East regional capital, Ghanaguardian.com is reliably informed that; there is a heavy security presence at Nkoranza, one of the cities tipped to be considered as the capital of the Bono East region.

President Nana Akufo-Addo today [Wednesday February 13, 2019] named Techiman as the capital of the newly created Bono East region.

Our correspondent Dekyi Elvis who has been monitoring developments in the area reports that; about 150 security personnel have been deployed to the Nkoranza township to patrol the streets to prevent unlawful activities by the youth.

The move of the security presence has become necessitated due to the current happenings in the North East region where a rampaging youth at Salaga South constituency Tuesday evening angrily burnt office of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The protesters, displeased by Tuesday's declaration by the President, insist Salaga deserved to be the regional capital.
