Borussia Dortmund bids farewell to Otto Addo as he takes on Black Stars coaching role

Borussia Dortmund has given Ghana coach Otto Addo a fitting farewell as he departs the club to focus on his role with the Black Stars.
The former Ghana international decided to end his nearly eight-year tenure with the German giants, where he served as the player development coach.
During his time at Dortmund, Addo was instrumental in the development of several top players, including Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham.
His work in transitioning young talents into elite footballers has been widely recognized.
Addo previously juggled his Dortmund responsibilities with his role as a coach for the Black Stars, leading Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
However, in February, the 48-year-old agreed to become the full-time head coach of the Black Stars following the dismissal of Chris Hughton.
In March, Addo managed the Black Stars in friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda, experiencing a loss to the Super Eagles and a draw with the Cranes.
The former FC Nordsjaelland coach is expected to arrive in Ghana this week for his official unveiling.
During this event, he will address the press and announce his squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic, scheduled for June.
