Gareth Bale hobbled out of Tuesday's 2-1 Champions League win at Sporting Lisbon.

Real Madrid confirmed that Bale had a "traumatic dislocation of the peroneal tendons" in his right ankle, but did not state how long he could be out for although he was automatically ruled out of the upcoming games including the El Clasico.

Today the Real Madrid medical team has issued a statement stating that the 27 years old will indeed undergo a surgery ruling him out for several months:

"the Real Madrid Sanitas Medical Services have decided that Gareth Bale will undergo an operation following the traumatic dislocation of the peroneal tendons of his right ankle. The operation will take place at King Edward VII Hospital in London on Tuesday 29th November by doctor James Calder, under the supervision of the club doctors Jesús Olmo and Mikel Aramberri".

No date has been set for his come back yet, but experts say it will take the forward at least 4 months to recover.
