Kumasi Asante Kotoko have named former Black Stars B coach Maxwell Konadu as their new coach .

The former Asante Kotoko player has agreed on an initail two year contract with the porcupine warriors with an option for a further year If all parties are satisfied.

His follows the sacking of  Danish trainer Kjetil Zachariasen last month after an abysmal reign at the club where he oversaw a back to back elimination from African inter club competitions.

Former Karela coach Johnson Smith who initially came over as an assistant coach has been holding the forth for the porcupine warriors through their pre-season training matches.

But with the appointment of Maxwell Konadu as the head coach the fate of the former Karela United coach remains unclear as he may come in with his own back room staff.

It Konadu's second stint with the porcupine warriors after helping the club to a league win in 20111 and an FA cup triumph during his first stint.
