French Ligue 1 side Brest have turned their attention to Ghana international Salis Abdul Samed as they seek to reinforce their midfield before the transfer window shuts.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who joined RC Lens in 2022, has recently experienced a downturn in his club career, being moved out of the first-team squad alongside teammate Stijn Spierings.

This development marks a significant setback for Salis, who was once a key player for Lens after making the switch from Clermont Foot.

Now on the transfer list, Salis faces an uncertain future as Lens head coach Will Still looks to streamline his squad.

However, Brest has emerged as a strong contender to secure the services of the Ghanaian midfielder on a loan deal. The club has already initiated contact with Lens to explore a potential agreement.

Earlier in the transfer window, both Montpellier and Saint-Étienne showed interest in acquiring Salis, but their pursuits have reportedly cooled.

Brest is now keen to finalise the deal, aiming to bolster their squad with the addition of Salis, who played a vital role in Lens' impressive campaign two seasons ago, helping the team qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

As the transfer window deadline approaches, Salis Abdul Samed's future remains in the balance, but a move to Brest could provide him with the opportunity to revive his career and secure regular playing time in Ligue 1.
