President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Apple, demanding that the company manufacture iPhones intended for the U.S. market domestically, or face a hefty 25% import tariff.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Friday morning, Trump stated, “I have long informed Tim Cook of Apple that I expect their iPhones sold in the United States to be manufactured here, not in India or any other location. If that is not the case, Apple will be required to pay a tariff of at least 25% to the U.S.”

This statement follows Trump’s recent trip to the Middle East, where he expressed his frustration with Apple CEO Tim Cook’s decision to expand iPhone production in India.

“I had a little problem with Tim Cook,” Trump remarked during a speech in Qatar. “I said to him, ‘Tim, you’re my friend. I treated you very well. You’re coming in with $500 billion.’ But now I hear you’re building all over India. I don’t want you building in India.”

Reports indicate that Trump and Cook met again at the White House on Tuesday, although the specifics of their discussion remain undisclosed, according to a source within the administration who spoke with CNN.
