German top-flight side FC Nuremberg are eyeing a swoop for Ghanaian midfielder Kingsley Schindler in the January transfer window.

The 25 year old is however still under contract at Bundesliga 2 outfit Holstein Kiel which runs out next summer.

According to "kicker", Nuremberg are willing to make a significant investment to price him away as they seek to bolster their squad.

His ability to operate as a wing-back, right midfielder or further forward where he has played for much of the campaign makes the Hamburg-born player an attractive option for any club.

Schindler was born in Germany and possesses both German and Ghanaian citizenship with Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah understood to be aware of the player and considering calling him into the Black Stars' squad.

Able to play across the right side of the pitch, the pacy and versatile Schindler qualifies to represent four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions through his Ghanaian parents.
