The incident took place on Friday morning the Kintampo North municipal district. As a result of the accident, one of the vehicles caught fire while the other was overturned by the impact.
A bus heading to the southern city of Kumasi collided head-on on the Kintampo-Tamale highway with a bus heading to Bolgatanga, located in the country's north. While the Kumasi-bound bus went up in flames, and all of its passengers died immediately, the Bolgatanga-bound bus fell into a ditch.
According to the media outlet, preliminary reports suggest that one of the bus drivers fell asleep while driving and crossed into the oncoming lane, crashing into another bus.
