The Krobo Methodist Primary School in the central region  has been abandoned to rot in a deplorable state.

The school which is located in the  Krobo Ahwuim electoral area housed over 500 students.

Speaking to the press, the Assemblyman of the area, Mr. Prince Nana Sankah said that the school was established about 50 years ago but has not seen any expansion to befit the high enrollment numbers of pupils.

Mr Sankah added that the community contributed in putting up the school in 90’s but it  has since not seen any renovation works, adding that that residents over the years have run out of the necessary resources to renovate the  school block.

Prior to pupils preferring to stay home than attend school, they are mostly forced to close each time it is threatening to rain appealing to philanthropists Non-Governmental Organizations(NGOs) to come to their rescue.

He was optimistic that the renovation of the classroom block would save some 500 students who sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) each year with many failing due to the unavailability of proper infrastructure.
