JS Kabylie forward Aimen Mahious has expressed confidence that his side will complete the job in Algeria and eliminate Ghanaian champions Bibiani GoldStars FC in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.

The Algerian heavyweights secured a 2–0 first-leg victory at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, showcasing their continental pedigree and tactical discipline. Mahious, who played a key role in the win, believes the return leg will be even more decisive.

“We played against a good team and we won 2–0. At their home it’s difficult for them because we won,” Mahious told reporters.
“Inshallah we will make the game easy in Algeria and we will win and qualify. When they come, it’s going to be another game—not like this one.”

JS Kabylie, two-time CAF Champions League winners and holders of 14 Algerian league titles, entered the tie as favorites. Their composure and experience showed in Accra, where they absorbed pressure and struck clinically.

GoldStars, meanwhile, are navigating their first-ever continental campaign after winning the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League. Their momentum was checked earlier this month with a 1–0 loss to Asante Kotoko in the Champion-of-Champions curtain-raiser.

GoldStars must overturn the deficit with a two-goal margin to force extra time or win by three clear goals to qualify outright. Any draw or win for JSK will see the Algerians advance to the second round of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League.
