Asante Kotoko are refusing to back down as they prepare for a high-stakes second-leg playoff against Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Confederation Cup, scheduled for Friday, October 24 at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Morocco.
The Ghanaian giants trail by a one-goal deficit, following their first-leg loss at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday. But Communication Director Sarfo Duku insists the team is ready to fight.
“We will go all out against Wydad in Morocco… it is going to be difficult but we are determined to do our best,” Duku told Kessben FM.
Kotoko Arrive in Casablanca
Led by head coach Abdul Karim Zito, Kotoko’s 20-man squad landed at Mohammed V International Airport on Wednesday morning. Notable inclusions:
- Mohammed Camara (suspended but traveled)
- Albert Amoah, Samba O’Neil, Patrick Asiedu
- Peter Amidu, Emmanuel Antwi
As per CAF regulations, Kotoko will hold their final training session at the match venue on Thursday, ahead of Friday’s decisive clash.
Kotoko are expected to open up play, seeking early control and attacking intent to overturn the deficit. With Camara unavailable, defensive organization and midfield transitions will be key.
