Ghanaian youngster Caleb Yirenkyi produced an outstanding defensive performance for FC Nordsjælland as they secured a 1-0 win against FC Midtjylland.
Deployed at centre-back, Yirenkyi played the full 90 minutes and was instrumental in keeping the opposition at bay with a composed and commanding display.
The midfielder who played as a center back in the game, recorded 64 touches during the match and completed 26 of his 32 passes, maintaining an impressive presence in possession.
He was particularly dominant in defensive situations, making 18 clearances, winning all 11 of his aerial duels and registering 11 ball recoveries. Yirenkyi also contributed two interceptions and a crucial block as Nordsjælland successfully shut out Midtjylland.
The performance highlighted the Ghanaian’s versatility and defensive awareness, as he adapted comfortably to the centre-back role and played a key part in securing the clean sheet.
