The case of 21-year-old final-year KNUST student, Daniel Tuffuor, accused of killing his girlfriend, Joana Deladem Yabani, has been adjourned to September 15, 2025.
Tuffuor was arrested on Thursday, February 27, 2025, after Joana’s lifeless body was discovered on the university campus earlier that morning.
The incident was reported to police by the school’s security service.
According to investigators, the suspect and the victim were in a romantic relationship at the time.
CCTV footage allegedly shows Tuffuor strangling Joana following an altercation.
He was subsequently arraigned before the Prempeh District Court, where the case has since been ongoing.
While Joana has since been buried and funeral rites performed, the police say their investigations are still active. Meanwhile, Tuffuor remains on remand in prison custody.
