Hearts of Oak midfielder Salim Adams has publicly refuted the club's announcement of his sale to Sudanese side Al Hilal, sparking confusion and controversy.
There was drama as on Wednesday, May 24th, Hearts of Oak declared they had reached an agreement with Al Hilal for Adams's transfer, contingent upon his acceptance of personal terms with the Sudanese team. The club's statement read:
"Accra Hearts of Oak is thrilled to officially announce that it has agreed to release Salim Adams to Al-Hilal Omdurman on a permanent transfer deal. The transfer would be signed and sealed subject to the player agreeing on personal terms with the Sudanese club."
Contradicting this announcement, Adams took to Facebook to deny the claim, stating the club cannot announce a transfer without his consent. He simply wrote, "Not true."
Adams, who previously played for New Edubiase United, rejoined Hearts of Oak for the second round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League after a loan spell at FC Cincinnati 2.
This season, he has scored two goals and provided one assist in 12 matches for the Phobians. His contract with Hearts of Oak is set to expire at the end of the current season.
The midfielder's denial of the transfer highlights the ongoing disarray within the club, leaving fans and stakeholders uncertain about his future.
