Legendary former Chelsea player and manager Frank Lampard is set to work with Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante at English Championship side Coventry City.

Lampard’s appointment comes after the departure of Mark Robins, who was let go following a disappointing start to the season, having spent seven years at the club.

Coventry City currently sits in 17th place in the Championship standings with just 17 points from 17 games, having secured four wins, five draws, and eight losses. The club is hoping Lampard’s experience and leadership will inspire a turnaround in their fortunes.

Lampard has agreed to a two-and-a-half-year contract, which will keep him at Coventry City until the winter of 2027. His arrival is viewed as a bold decision to introduce fresh ideas and revitalization to the team.

Brandon Thomas-Asante, who has recorded one goal and one assist in 16 matches so far this season, will be looking to benefit from Lampard's expertise and improve his contributions under the new coach.

Lampard’s first match in charge will be against Cardiff City on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 15:00 GMT, offering an early opportunity for the new coach to make his mark and help Coventry climb the league table.
