Chelsea's English-born Ghanaian starlet, Josh Acheampong, has been selected for the club's upcoming tour of the United States, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.

Acheampong, who has been hailed as one of Chelsea's most promising talents, played a pivotal role in the club's academy team during the 2023/24 season.

His impressive performances earned him a first-team debut in March 2024, under the tutelage of manager Mauricio Pochettino, during a home victory against Tottenham.

His standout moment came in the U18 Premier League national final against Manchester United, where he scored a header, although Chelsea narrowly lost 2-1 at Stamford Bridge. Acheampong's consistent form led to his first professional contract at the beginning of 2024.

The Blues are set to embark on their transatlantic journey, starting with a pre-season match against Wrexham in Santa Clara on Wednesday.

The tour continues with games against Celtic in Notre Dame and Club America in Atlanta.

Chelsea's tour will culminate in high-profile matches against the previous two Champions League winners, Manchester City in Columbus and Real Madrid in Charlotte on August 6.

The team will then return to England to prepare for their final pre-season match against Inter Milan.

Acheampong's inclusion in the tour squad is a testament to his hard work and potential, and he will be looking to make a strong impression as Chelsea gears up for the new season.
