Jesus Christ told His followers to proclaim the gospel throughout the world, teach those whom God would call and care for His people. How did He expect that work to be funded?

It is undeniable the main motivation of many religious charlatans out there seems to be personal profit. This tends to put people off supporting worthy religious causes. Yet the work of the Church of God does have monetary needs. And the need for that definitely did not end with the conclusion of the apostolic era.

A chief has done the ‘unthinkable’ by rehabilitating a whole church building and constructed a three-bedroom Mission house with toilet facility for Otoase Ebenezer Presbyterian Church congregation in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region.

The Kyidomhene of Aburi Atwiasin, Nana Opare Kwafo, says this not the first time he has embarked on such project in the area having done same for Manfokrom and that, constructing a mission house in his quest to support the growth of the church.

Nana Kwafo noted that it was the Otoase Emmanuel Congregation raise the foundation of the mission house in that regard but says he deemed it necessary to complete the project as a relative of the town after the church had struggled at a point in time due to a financial burden.

“As a true Presbyterian, I have embarked on a lot of projects for Churches especially those in the villages. I have constructed a ghc50,000 church block for Akuapem presbytery four years. Again, I have also pledged to construct an additional one for them two months ago after rekindling the churches in pavilion program by the Akuapem Presbytery introduced four years ago".

"I painted the Akropong presbytery office with a pavement due to the bad state of the office at the time the sednoid was about to commence there” he revealed.

Nana Kwafo Akoto added he has revamped a school in the area due to its jeopardize nature as he believes the school edifice will be commissioned in a month or two.

The Member of Parliament for Ayensuano constituency, Ayeh Paye speaking at the church program expressed gratitude to the Chief for his immense support towards the refurbishment of the church and the construction of a three-bedroom mission house with toilet facility for the Otoase Presbyterian Church.

He, therefore, cautioned the church members to take good care of the project as he believes maintenance culture in the country is on the decline and that, urging church members to preach the word of God to others so they can fill the chapel to capacity.

He said, he played an instrumental role before a District was introduced in Adoagyiri with Otoase being part of the District.

The Adoagyiri District Minister of the Church, Rev. Emmanuel Bekoe Siaw also on behalf of the Church lavished praises to the Chief for his unflinching support towards the church, saying the mass was named after the Chief's late father due to his support.

The Church, however, dedicated the Mission house in honour of the chief's late father, Nana Kwadjo Opare Adjakwa.
