Black Meteors coach Ibrahim Tanko has announced his 21 man squad for the U-23 Afcon set to take place in Egypt from 8-22 November 2019.

The 21 man list contains 12 foreign based nationals with 9 of them locally based players.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko lead with a strong local contingent of  three players namely goalkeepers Kwame Baah ,Danlad Ibrahim and midfielder cum defender Habib Mohammed with Hearts of Oak contributing with two players namely goalkeeper Richmond Ayi and left full back William Denkyi.

The foreign based contingent includes Black Stars and Córdoba CF striker Kwabena Owusu , former Inter Allies striker Ropapa Mensah now in the US with Nashville SC.

Samuel Obeng Gyabaa of Spanish lower tier side Real Oviedo complete the foreign legion.

Ghana will open the tournament with a game against Cameroon on the November 8 before playing hosts Egypt and Mali on 11 and 14 November respectively in group A.

The top three teams at the  tournament will qualify automatically to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo- Japan.
