Dreams FC secured a 2-1 victory against Sierra Leonean side FC Kallon in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederations Cup at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.

Coach Karim Zito fielded a strong starting XI, including Solomon Agbasi, Gael Aholou, Simba Sylvester, Godfred Atuahene, and more.

The "Still Believe" lads started well, with a 10th-minute free kick that led to Godfred Atuahene firing wide on the rebound for a goal-kick. Atuahene redeemed himself just a minute later with a solo finish, opening the scoring for the hosts.

Despite possessing the ball well, FC Kallon struggled to create meaningful chances. Just before halftime, FC Kallon surprised everyone by equalizing through Daniel Karim, and the first half ended 1-1.

In the second half, Dreams FC made two changes as they sought to regain the lead. Five minutes later, Dreams FC were awarded a penalty, which veteran striker John Antwi calmly converted to make it 2-1, marking his third goal in the campaign.

Both teams continued to attack, especially in the last fifteen minutes, but were unable to find the back of the net. The match ended 2-1 in favor of Dreams FC.

The return leg is scheduled for September 29, 2023, in Freetown. The winner of this tie will qualify for the group stages of the 2023/24 CAF Confederations Cup.
