Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah has questioned why in this day and age the Ghana Football Association does not have a befitting training center where all national teams will lodge and train during games.

The Columbus Crew defender has lamented the lack of standard world class facilities in the nation befitting for use by the various national teams.

For many football nations, they have developed ultra modern training centers which is well stocked with the latest modern equipment that usually houses and is used as a training and lodging facility for the various national teams.

In Ghana, we usually rely on hotels as camping base for players when preparing for various national team assignments in the country.

Jonathan Mensah believes with the stature of Ghana's football is a shame we have to rely on hotels for national team camping as the Ghanaman Soccer Center for Execellence in Prampram is not fit for purpose.

“It is very disappointing that a nation like Ghana does not have a befitting training camp or facilities for the national teams while the country spends money to rent hotels all the time," he told Accra based Angel FM.

“Honestly speaking, we can do it but I really don’t know why Ghana doesn’t have that. The current GFA Centre in Prampram is not fit for purpose," he added.
