Ghanaian defender Denis Odoi played a crucial role for Royal Antwerp in their 1-1 draw against Gent in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League on Sunday.

Odoi, who started and played the entire match, delivered a key assist in the game held at the Planet Group Arena. Gent took an early lead with a goal from Seven Kums in the 16th minute, set up by Jordan Torunarigha.

However, Antwerp equalized in the 30th minute when Tjaronn Chery converted a precise pass from Odoi.

Despite efforts from both teams, no additional goals were scored in the second half, leading to a share of the points.

The 36-year-old Odoi, who joined Antwerp from Club Brugge this summer after his contract ended, has made five appearances for his new club this season, registering one assist.

It is worth noting that Odoi was not included in the Black Stars' squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
