At the 2018 edition of the Vodaphone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Legendary Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artiste, Samini introduced fast-rising Afropop artiste, Deon Boakye leaving many to suggest that he had signed the young talent.

Samini who is known for nurturing some of the biggest music talents in the country including Stonebwoy, Kaakie, Kofi Kinaata among others has said he never signed Deon Boakye.

Speaking in an interview on e.TV Ghana’s Late Nite Celebrity Show, Samini disclosed that he only endorsed the artist for his talent.

“He is a High Grade artiste you can say that, but professionally you need to sign a contract. Put paper and pen together before you can say that. Official as I speak, he is my son I have endorsed him and stamp on anything he does and I also share his works”.

“Until I put pen and paper together for him I can’t say I have signed him because it will be dangerous to say that.”

When asked if he was going to sign him he said, ” if I get back to signing artistes and he needs me, yes i will sign him but if by then he is big enough then he will not need me because my platform is for the very up and coming who needs to blow”.

“I have endorsed him so he has the right to say High Grade Family wherever he goes with no fear”

The 'MOBO' award winner recently released his 7th studio album titled 'Untamed'.
