Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr Samuel Abu Jinapor has wrestled the Damongo Constituency seat from under the noses of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savannah Region.

The private legal practitioner garnered 15,671 votes to beat his nearest challenger who is in the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Adam Mutawakilu who polled 13,330.

An independent Parliamentary candidate David Tiki Dange polled 296 votes.

A total of 29,150 valid votes were cast in the Parliamentary elections with 499 votes rejected.

There was the famous skirt and blouse voting in full flow as the NDC despite losing the Parliamentary seat won the Presidential with John Mahama polling 16,231 votes while the President Nana Addo had 12,264 votes.

While Ghana Union Movement's Christaina Kwabena Andrews got 62 votes with the CPP's Ivor Greenstreet getting 27 votes with 861 votes being rejected out of a total valid votes of 29,199.
