Belgian-born Ghanaian midfielder Desmond Acquah made his mark in FCV Dender EH's Belgian Cup clash, scoring in their narrow 2-1 defeat to Zulte Waregem in the Round of 32.

The game started with Zulte Waregem taking an early lead, courtesy of an Abdoulaye Traore goal in the 13th minute.

Just five minutes later, Acquah responded with a well-timed strike, leveling the score and marking his first goal of the tournament.

However, Zulte Waregem regained their lead before halftime through Anton Tanghe’s 35th-minute goal.

Acquah was substituted in the 70th minute for Guinean midfielder Dembo Sylla as FCV Dender EH pushed for an equalizer.

Despite a determined effort, they were unable to break through, allowing Zulte Waregem to advance.

FCV Dender EH will now turn their attention back to the Belgian Pro League, where they currently sit 7th with 16 points.

Their next league fixture is against Westerlo on November 1st.
