Ghanaian rapper Amerado has revealed that radio presenter DJ Slim played a key role in sparking his past lyrical feud with fellow rapper Medikal.

Speaking in an interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika, Amerado said the clash stemmed from an existing disagreement between DJ Slim and Medikal, which he was invited to join.

“My beef with Medikal stemmed from a banter he had with DJ Slim. Slim called me to action, and I heeded. At the time, I was just lazing about, so I recorded ‘Medikated Soap’,” he said.

Amerado admitted that he sometimes regrets taking part in the beef, but views it as part of his artistic growth.

“At some point after the release, I felt bad about it, but in music, you don’t count your regrets, so I just brushed over it,” he stated.

Despite their history, Amerado said he holds Medikal in high regard. He, however, expressed displeasure over a recent incident in which the Stubborn Academy rapper allegedly used offensive words toward his mother.

“Medikal had never wronged me before, until recently, when he used some derogatory words directed at my mum, which got me angry, but even with that, I have not dissed him. I respect him.”

Amerado recently released his rap tape Against All Odds, followed by a four-track highlife EP titled Defy All Odds. He is expected to release a reggae EP in November 2025.
