Working outside has a multitude of benefits. But along with the benefits of exercising outdoors, there are some shortcomings too. One thing that can make or break your outdoor workout is the weather. Too hot, too cold or rainy, you can’t go for an outdoor workout if the weather plays foul.

The temperature at which you workout plays a significant role in your overall wellbeing. Like working out in summer makes you feel too drained out and tired, working out in winter makes your lungs hurt. This happens because too much dry air hit your lungs in this weather, making you brutally cold to sweat out.

Though some of you may still prefer wearing your warmest jackets and go for an outdoor workout, experts say there is really a cut-off point at which you should just not exercise outside.

TemperatureExperts say when the temperature is below zero and the wind chill is – 17, it’s best to stay indoors. In this temperature, it takes almost 30 minutes for frostbite to form on the exposed skin. So, checking the wind chill factor is important.

Listen to your bodyEven if the temperature isn’t below zero degrees and you feel numbness, stay indoors. Numbness is the first sign of frostbite.
