Kumawood actor Don Little has revealed how he narrowly avoided jail during a recent trip to Ethiopia after attempting to pay with Ghanaian cedis.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, the diminutive actor narrated that the ordeal began during his flight. Seated in business class, he admitted that the only cash he carried with him was Ghanaian cedis, despite knowing he needed to exchange it before travelling.

“When we were about to take off, I suddenly felt hungry, but I didn’t know where to buy food,” he explained.

On arrival in Addis Ababa, Don Little said desperation pushed him to approach a stranger to ask for food, offering to pay in cedis by calculating the equivalent in Ethiopian birr. The individual, however, became suspicious and reported him to the police.

According to the actor, the situation escalated quickly until one of the officers recognised him. “I know this guy, he is a comedian,” Don Little recalled, mimicking the officer’s words. A search confirmed his identity as a Ghanaian actor, and he was cleared of wrongdoing.

He admitted that he was fortunate to have been recognised, stressing that without that intervention, he might have ended up in prison. “I beg of you, my Ghanaian siblings, let’s use this as a lesson. Whenever you are travelling, make sure to change money to the currency of the country you are visiting,” he advised.

Fans who watched his video urged him to acquire a credit card to avoid similar challenges in the future.
