Talented rapper, Samuel Adu Frimpong, better known in showbiz circles as Medikal, says winning an award does not necessarily determine how good you are as an artiste.

The too risky hitmaker, who is set to release his much anticipated debut album on July 7 said this during an interview on Live FM as part of his media tour until the release.

Speaking on his failure to secure an award at the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) despite being nominated 7 times, the artiste said he did not need an award to prove that he was good.

"I felt disappointed because I worked hard for it but I've moved on. An award doesn't determine how good you are. You don't need an award to know you are good" he stated

Medikal, whose inability to win an award at the 2017 VGMAs was met with mixed reaction has since won an award for Best New Act at the maiden edition of the Ghana Entertainment Awards, USA.
