Dr Randy Abbey heaps praises on Black Stars Management Committee for efforts in Black Stars' heroics
16th October 2025
Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Dr. Randy Abbey, has commended his team for their unwavering commitment and collaboration, following Ghana’s successful qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The achievement comes in the wake of a difficult chapter in Ghanaian football, marked by the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) — their first absence from the continental tournament in over two decades.
In response, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) dissolved the previous committee led by Mark Addo and appointed a new leadership team, headed by Dr. Abbey and featuring:
- Vice Chairman: Stephen Appiah (former Black Stars captain)
- Members: Samuel Aboabire, Moses Armah Parker, Dr. Richard Nsenkyire
Speaking to Asempa FM, Dr. Abbey reflected on the pressure and purpose that defined their journey:
“It was stressful, but we stayed together as a team and everybody put everything on board… We all sacrificed to ensure the Black Stars qualify.”
He emphasized the positive working relationship and shared vision that helped steer Ghana back to the global stage:
“Everybody wants to bring something on board… I am impressed with the working relationship with my members.”
With leadership restored and unity reaffirmed, the Black Stars are poised to turn redemption into impact when the world watches next June.
