A New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant at the Ajumako Enyam Essiam constituency in the Central Region, Elisha Debrah Odoom has taken back his car gift from the party after losing the primaries.

Mr Odoom who brought 11 saloon cars to the election grounds as donation to the party took away all the vehicles after he was declared loser.

Earlier, Mr Odoom had promised to donate each of the branded cars to the 10 Zones in the constituency and the remaining one to the constituency office to ensure the effective running of party activities.

However, at the end of the election, Mr Odoom who was very confident of winning lost to an Environmental Sanitation and Waste Management Expert, Dr Rashid Kwesi Etuaful.

Dr Etuaful polled 411 votes to defeat former parliamentary candidate and District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, Rev. Ransford Kwesi Nyarko, who managed 232.

Elisha Debrah Odoom and  Richard Hagan had 67 votes and a paltry 2 votes respectively.

An angry, disappointed and traumatized Elisha Debrah Odoom after the election quickly asked that all the cars be loaded on a trailer and driven to his residence much to the surprise of the delegates.

The 10 Hyundai i10 vehicles which had been branded with images of Mr Odoom, ostensibly to be distributed to delegates, were taken back to Tema after Mr Odoom lost.
