Ghanaian football club Dreams FC has been drawn against Malian powerhouse Stade de Malien in the quarter-final stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.
The draw, which took place in Cairo on Tuesday, 12 March, outlined the fate of the last eight clubs in the competition's knockout stages.
The draw produced intriguing matchups, with all four previous champions—USM Alger, RS Berkane, Stade Malien, and RS Berkane—avoiding each other in the quarter-finals.
The highlight of the draw is an Egyptian derby between Modern Future and 2019 champions Zamalek, who are eager to reclaim a continental title.
In the second quarter-final fixture, Libya's Abu Salem faces a tough challenge against two-time champions RS Berkane of Morocco, who are seeking their third continental title after triumphs in 2020 and 2022.
Nigeria's Rivers United, yet to taste continental success, will take on reigning champions USM Alger, who clinched the title last season and defeated Al Ahly SC in the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup final.
Stade Malien, champions in the 2009 edition, return to the knockout stages of the competition and are eyeing a second title.
They will face Ghana's Dreams FC, who aim to upset their more fancied opponent and advance further in the tournament.
