Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Ernest Poku showcased his talent as AZ Alkmaar and Le Havre played to a 1-1 draw in a preseason friendly on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old made an immediate impact, opening the scoring in the 2nd minute with a clinical finish after receiving a deft back-flick pass from captain Sven Mijnans at the AFAS Stadium in the Netherlands.

AZ Alkmaar dominated the majority of the match, but Le Havre managed to equalize through Senegalese striker Issa Soumare, who found the net in the 10th minute.

Despite their superior play, AZ Alkmaar couldn't secure the win, and the match ended in a deserved draw for both teams.

This result has raised some concerns for both clubs regarding their progress and direction as they intensify preparations for the 2024/25 football season.

The Cheese Farmers will look to address these issues as they aim to make a significant impact in the upcoming campaign.
