The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has released a detailed summary of revised charges covering vehicle registration, transfer, reinstatement, and related services across all operational categories.

The updated schedule applies to both Regular and Premium service options for private and commercial vehicles, as well as specialised machinery. Premium services, as expected, attract higher fees due to faster processing times.

Broad Coverage Across Vehicle Categories

The new rates span a wide range of vehicle types and specialised equipment, including:

  • Articulated trucks (24–32 tons and above), for both private and commercial use

  • Buses and coaches

  • Construction and mining machinery

  • Motorcycles (school and private categories)

  • Mechanically propelled agricultural and harvesting equipment

  • Motor vehicles in exposed and non-exposed categories

  • Road cargo vehicles (up to and above 32 tons)

Revised Fees for Registration, Transfers, and Special Numbers

The DVLA’s updated pricing also covers services such as:

  • Vehicle registration and ownership transfers

  • Registration and transfer with customised or special number plates

  • Reinstatement of customised numbers

  • Changes of registration numbers

  • International driving and vehicle permits

  • Vehicle lay-off reinstatements

  • Onboarding of vehicles and physical conversions

  • Transfer of commission for articulated trucks, harvesters, and older equipment

Special categories, including trace plates and custom number transfers, have also been revised.

Commitment to Transparency

The DVLA says the publication of the new fee schedule forms part of efforts to promote transparency and improve service delivery. The Authority emphasized that making the rates publicly available helps ensure that vehicle owners are well-informed about the costs associated with all DVLA services.

The public is encouraged to review the updated fees and contact DVLA offices nationwide for any clarifications.
