The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Fanteakwa South in the Eastern Region, Hon. Ntori Adjabeng has commissioned a 6-unit classroom block and a 6-seater WC toilet facility at the Hemang Presby Primary School.

The projects which was funded by GETFUND at a cost of GHS740,000.00 was handed over to the school authority on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

Speaking at a short ceremony, the Coordinating Director for the Fanteakwa District Assembly South, Mr. John Paddy, who represented the DCE, said the Assembly and for that matter government was committed to providing the infrastructural needs of the schools in District.

He assured that the DCE will continue to provide the needed logistics for effective teaching and learning.

Mr. John Paddy pleaded with the teachers to take good care of the facilities and run effective teaching for the children.

“We want to entreat the teachers to take good care of the facilities. They are supposed to equip the pupils with knowledge, skills, attitude and values that will make them useful to themselves and the society which they find themselves.”

He therefore advised the pupils to take their studies seriously so that the effort of building the classroom block will not go in vain.

He urged the community to help the Assembly by paying their taxes and property rates for them to benefit from more developmental projects in the district.

In his part, the District Education Officer for Fanteakwa South, Mr Matthew Bobi Ansah thanked the Assembly and promised his outfit will put out measures to ensure the facilities will last longer for the generation unborn.

Also, Nana Kwabia Adobee, the Ankobeahene of Akyem Hemang, expressed his appreciation to the DCE and President Akufo-Addo for their tremendous contribution towards education in the country.
