The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong has commended Security agencies in Ghana for maintaining Peace and tranquility in Ghana.

Addressing the security agencies in Koforidua, the Regional capital where the security agencies converged, he urged the men and women in uniform to respect the veterans bearing in mind that one day they would also retire.

The Regional Minister noted that sustainable peace is very critical for accelerated development therefore imperative for Ghana to jealously guard its peaceful environment.

The Security Agencies on last Friday converged at the Regional Police Headquarters to mark 76th Remembrance Day, celebrated worldwide to pay tribute to our the fallen heroes who fought during the first and second world war.

In all, 8 contingents formed the parade, made up of two contingents from Ghana Armed Forces and Ghana Police Officers. Ghana Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Prisons Service, and Veterans Association presented a contingent each.

The Regional Minister laid a wreath on behalf of the President and the Republic of Ghana, Commanding Officer of 1BN Michel Camp-Tema laid one on behalf of Security Service, Regional Chairman of Veterans Association of Ghana and Ag. Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area laid one each for Veterans and Chiefs and people of Region respectively.
