Ebony’s choice of clothing in public can lead to her arrest by the Ghana Police Service, says private Ghanaian legal practitioner Gary Nimako.

He was speaking on the legality of the ‘Sponsor‘ act showing skin during her stage performances and in music videos.

“To decide that at any opportunity you get, you will expose one bum or the other or both…or to expose yourself publicly in a manner which is abhorrent, in a manner in which society does not accept, then obviously the law can catch up with you,”explained Nimako during an interview on Hitz FM.

“They (Police) don’t need a complainant in this matter. The public appearances are all there, so if they themselves have seen the videos and come to the conclusion that they must question her, they have the right to call her for questioning. Nobody can deprive anyone of pursuing their economic interests in this country. If you’re a musician and you have to do your performance, you can do it in a manner which is decent and in a manner which will still attract your fans.”

Ebony has come under severe criticism from many people for her outfits especially after what she wore to the 2017 4Syte TV Music Video Awards.

Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour), President of Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) recently described her dressing as “very bad” in a interview.

It is very bad. Again, in our vein as a union as much as we will try to make the public understand the role that our musicians play, that they are in an acting role… that they should be cautious of the moral values of the country that they are operating in” explained Kuffour to JOY NEWS.

“Lady Gaga could wear it and nobody would cry, will scream foul about it because maybe the environment, and the moral values of the country they are in, is different from the moral values of the country we are in now. And so we are always advising our musicians to be quite decorous… in their way of dressing.”
