The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are reported to be in stable condition after being involved in a road traffic accident in the early hours of Thursday, February 12.
The incident occurred on the Bolgatanga–Tumu stretch of road as the two ministers, together with their respective convoys, were en route to the Upper West Region for the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.
Officials say all occupants of the convoy sustained no life-threatening injuries and have since been given medical attention. Medical personnel have confirmed that the ministers and other affected persons are responding well to treatment and remain in stable condition.
In a brief statement, the Office of the Minister for Education expressed appreciation to emergency responders, health workers, and members of the public who assisted promptly at the scene.
Authorities indicated that further information will be shared if necessary as monitoring continues.
