The Ministry of Education, with support from the GETFund, has handed over 20 Toyota Land Cruisers to 20 Colleges of Education nationwide to support monitoring, supervision, and administrative work by college principals.

The beneficiary institutions include Accra College of Education, Ada College of Education, Akatsi College of Education, Wenchi College of Education, Berekum College of Education, among others. Speaking at the handover ceremony held at the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) premises on Friday, December 19, the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, said the initiative is intended to promote smooth and efficient administration in the colleges of education.
“Ideally, I should have handed over 46 keys this morning, but due to logistical constraints, we are providing twenty vehicles today. Twenty colleges of education will benefit from this initiative this morning,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Board Chair of GTEC, Professor Mahama Duwiejua, expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Education and the GETFund for the support. He urged beneficiary institutions to ensure the vehicles are used strictly for their intended purpose to help strengthen teaching and learning outcomes in their colleges.
