Member of Parliament (MP) for Effiduase-Asokore constituency, Hon. Dr Nana Ayew Afriye has allegedly slapped his District Chief Executive (DCE), Mary Boatemaa Marfo after a fight ensued between the two at Effiduase in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti region.

The unfortunate incident happened Friday morning at the premises of the Effiduase District Assembly, according to an eyewitness.

The eyewitness, who only gave his name as Asante, told Ghanaguardian.com that, the MP and the DCE were quarrelling about which bus will convey party faithful to President Akufo-Addo's durbar grounds.

Asante reported that, Nana Ayew Afriye slapped Hon Mary Marfo in the face and pushed her to fall on the ground after she flouted his orders by telling the bus driver not to move the vehicle.

The female DCE suffered pain in one leg as she was seen limping after fallen down and was rushed to the Effiduase Government Hospital where she was treated and discharged, the eyewitness said.

When asked whether an official complaint was lodged at the police station, Asante replied 'no', as at the time of filing this report.

Nana Akufo-Addo on Friday stormed the Sekyere East District as part of his three-day official visit to the Ashanti Region.

The tour is to offer him the opportunity to inspect major infrastructure projects being undertaken by the government and interact with chefs, party faithful and religious leaders.
