IT is signed, sealed and definite. It is Efya once more for Girl Talk 2018.

After months of speculation regarding who would take on the mantle of headline act after she said goodbye to the popular ‘girls girls’ show at the end of last year’s bash which was dubbed The BowoutGraphic Showbiz can authoritatively state that Efya is back in the role by popular request.

Showbiz snooped around for hints on who would assume the demanding task after her three-year contract elapsed. We hit a few roadblocks but have now come away totally convinced that she will be in the saddle for another edition.

That’s because the fans want her back, they want to see her one more time and the show has been labelled: ‘The Loud Encore.’

So come December 21 at the National Theatre, she will climb up the stage for another fascinating installment of the event described as the ultimate girls’ night out.

Apart from her, there will be the usual package of stars with a variety of artistic persuasions to help hold up the massive doses of entertainment for the night.

Girl Talk came along in 2011 with Becca as the main act. She effectively held on to the part till the fourth show.

Just as her numerous fans were beginning to assume the event was cut out for her alone, she put out information that Girl Talk was not just about her and that it was “about every single one out there”.

Efya bravely stepped into her shoes from 2015 and she turned out to be a perfect replacement. She, however, announced on Facebook at the end of the 2017 show that her time with Girl Talk had ran out.

Efya will once again headline this year's show dubbed ‘The Loud Encore’

“I will never forget the moments we shared. You will always be part of my journey. I must move on and give way to another amazing woman for an unforgettable experience; hand over the mantle and bow out. Thank you Girl Talk for believing in me,” Efya put out on Facebook.

That was when the guesswork went into overdrive. Multiple names, including Ebony, MzVee and even some Gospel big shots and foreign acts were bandied around as possible replacements for her at the always well-patronised yearly event.

It has now been undeniably settled that Efya is returning to the role with more vigour and creative power.

Sources close to her management team have said she’s extremely grateful to fans of the show for wanting her back and feels more than happy to return for an encore.

Girl Talk is organised by Palm Media. It is sponsored by Vitamilk and supported by CD Lemmon Beer.
