Ghana midfielder Elisha Owusu has expressed his admiration for football stars Kevin-Prince Boateng and Andre Ayew, emphasizing the honor he feels to share the national team shirt with his childhood idols.

At 26 years old, Owusu made his debut for the Black Stars in March 2022 during a crucial World Cup qualification playoff against Nigeria.

Since then, the Auxerre midfielder has earned 10 caps for the national team, realizing a dream that began while watching Boateng and Ayew excel on the pitch.

"Growing up, I used to watch Kevin-Prince Boateng a lot. I loved him as a kid," Owusu shared in an exclusive interview with Flashscore.

"Andre Ayew, also because when you're from France, he is the ‘big big’ man. Having the chance to play with him in the national team was a big honor for me."

Currently focused on club responsibilities, Owusu aims to help Auxerre maintain their top-flight status in Ligue 1.

After an initial victory on the opening day, the team has faced challenges, suffering three consecutive losses that place them 15th on the league table.

Having recently secured promotion back to Ligue 1 by winning the Ligue 2 trophy, Owusu is aware of the hard work ahead to solidify their position in the top division as the season progresses.
