Ghanaian international Elisha Owusu had a challenging outing as Auxerre fell 3-1 to Le Havre in their French Ligue 1 clash on Sunday evening.
Owusu, who played the full match, faced a difficult game, and his misfortune began in the 17th minute when Gaëtan Perrin's direct free-kick gave Auxerre an early lead.
However, shortly after, Owusu inadvertently scored an own goal, leveling the score for Le Havre.
The teams went into halftime with the score tied at 1-1. In the second half, Le Havre secured their victory with goals from Rassoul Ndiaye and Abdoulaye Touré.
Despite the setback, Owusu has made two appearances in Ligue 1 this season.
He was expected to return to Ghana to join the Black Stars for the upcoming 2026 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger but injury has ruled him out with Forson Amankwah his replacement.
