The Elmina fish processing plant will lead to the creation of hundreds of direct and indirect jobs along the fishing value chain, the deputy minister of communication Felix Kwakye Fosu has said.
The project which was financed through a US$ 11 million Government of India-funded Line Credit is nearing completion, according to the Minister.
The minister on Monday took to his Facebook page, with picture evidence, and posted "[These] are pictures from a 100 tonne-per-day fish processing plant nearing completion at Elmina in the Central Region.
"It will offer a modern environment for the processing and storage of fish to avert spoilage and its attendant losses to our fisher-folks."The post reads.

The Fish Processing plant over a total area of about 4500 sqm is being built near the famous Elimina Castle.
When completed, the plant will have a fish processing hall, blast freezer, cold store, sea water ice making plant, fish feed plant, 40 cubicle with partition for storage and display and an office block..
