The leader of oil rich state of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has arrived in Ghana on a two-day working visit to boost business between the two countries.

The Emir arrived in the Ghanaian capital of Accra on Saturday night and was met at the Kotoka International Airport by the Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

President Akufo Addo and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will hold bilateral talks at Peduase Lodge in Aburi on Sunday December 24.

The two Heads of State will then supervise the signing of five (5) Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) between Ghana and Qatar.

It will be recalled that President Akufo-Addo, on Thursday 16th November 2017, as part of his 3-day official State visit to Qatar, paid a courtesy call on Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the visit, the discussions of two leaders centred on energy, infrastructural development, railways and roads, and also on the need to co-operate strategically for the mutual benefit of the two countries and their respective populations.

The reciprocal visit of the Emir of Qatar to Ghana from 23rd to 24th of December 2017, is expected to firm up the agreements reached between the two leaders last November.
