Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, has underscored the need to deepen collaboration with the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), a key continental institution focused on strengthening human, institutional, and policy capacities across Africa.
Dr Jinapor shared the update on his social media platforms on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, following a meeting with officials of the Foundation.
He described ACBF as a specialised agency of the African Union with a membership spanning more than 40 countries, highlighting its central role in enhancing Africa’s capacity for effective governance and development.
According to the minister, discussions at the meeting explored several areas of potential cooperation, including training and capacity building, policy development, access to electricity, and the broader energy transition agenda.
“Our discussions focused on opportunities for mutual collaboration and how we can work together to advance development across the continent,” he noted.
Dr Jinapor also drew attention to the African School of Regulation (ASR), describing it as a vital platform for strengthening regulatory capacity, promoting evidence-based policymaking, and supporting sustainable development across Africa.
He expressed confidence in the prospects of the partnership, stating that he looks forward to deepening cooperation with ACBF in support of Africa’s development and transformation agenda, while emphasising the importance of collective action in achieving sustainable progress.
