English-Ghanaian Ato Ampah signs for Stoke City from Chelsea

Teenage forward Ato Ampah has completed a deadline-day move from Chelsea to Stoke City, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Championship club.
The 19-year-old, who is English-born but of Ghanaian heritage, brings to an end a long association with Chelsea, having joined the club’s academy at the age of 10.
Ampah made his senior debut for the Blues last season in the UEFA Europa Conference League, featuring in a match against Kazakhstani side Astana. That appearance marked a significant milestone in his development after years progressing through Chelsea’s youth ranks.
The move to Stoke is seen as an opportunity for regular first-team football, with the Potters keen to invest in young talent as they look to build for the future.
For Ampah, the switch represents a fresh chapter in his career, a chance to turn promise into consistency at senior level. At 19, the winger will be hoping the change of scenery provides the platform to fulfil his potential and continue his rise in the English game.
